Well, the results of my MRI were normal, as were the results of all those damn inner-ear tests. So the ENT specialist decided to put me on a water pill . . . aka a diuretic, which he hopes will remove any excess water from my inner ear. I also asked for an antibiotic because I have had a lot of sinus pain and pressure, which I think is contributing to the problem.
The first day I took the diuretic, I felt better, although I made 7 trips to the bathroom between 8am and noon, which is a major pain in the ass when you have to wear pantyhose to work. Still, I was happy to be feeling a bit more like myself again. The second day, however, the diuretic began to cause me major muscle cramps (what I call muscle spasms) in my right leg. I woke up about six times during the night because my leg or foot (or both) was cramping. The last cramp I had started in my foot and then carried into my calf and finally my thigh, and I am still sore from it. So I stopped taking the diuretic and called my doctor’s office the next morning. I now need to go have my potassium levels checked, which means a blood draw. Yeah me.

Awww i’m sorry pudds i hope all goes well and you start feeling better soon
See, that’s why I stopped wearing pantyhose. I feel your pain, pudds. There are few things worse than having something wrong, but not being able to figure out what is causing it. It’s annoying, time-consuming, and frustrating. As always, I wish you the best.
Thanks Halbie, Alden.
I am feeling quite better, actually, and have not had a spell for the last week. I had to stop taking the water pill I had been prescribed since it caused me massive muscle cramps in my right leg. My doctor then asked that I have my potassium levels checked, so I immediately ran off to the hospital and had my blood drawn. That was more than 7 days ago, and I have yet to hear back from my doctor. Butthead. In the meantime, I finished taking a course of antibiotics. Maybe that did the trick. I also worked about 55 hours last week, so I didn’t have time to follow up or even think about it.
halbie doesn’t wear panty hose anymore? :cry2:
Feel better, pudds.
Hope you are feeling better!
