About two years have passed since I last blogged. If you visited my blog before, you can see that the look of it has changed significantly. I complained incessantly to my husband that I needed something to provide inspiration, and the design of my former blog just didn’t excite me. It was too sophisticated, which is a word I would never use to describe myself. I’m immature for my 38 years. I’m playful but sometimes incredibly dense. I’m goofy. I think poop is funny. I try not to take myself too seriously. That’s why the design of my new site inspires me.
Okay, so what’s new in my life, you ask? Well, the Wookiee and I recently celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We’ve now been tip-toeing through couplehood for 12 years. Each year gets better.
After much searching, I also started a new job in March of 2007. It’s an excellent fit–I spend my days reading, writing, editing and developing creative concepts. It’s pretty cool.
The house is also coming along nicely. For a few months after we first bought it, I regretted our decision. It’s an old house, it’s small, the yard is small, the roof and furnace and water heater and all the kitchen appliances needed to be replaced. The bathroom was disgusting. But we loved the neighborhood so much that we couldn’t pass it up. So we replaced the roof, the water heater and the furnace. Now we have air conditioning. We remodeled the bathroom ourselves, which was stupid since neither one of seems to be capable of actually finishing a home improvement project, but at least it’s not disgusting anymore. We replaced the fridge and stove and tiled the kitchen floor. And just the other day we had tuck pointing completed. Next I think we’re going to have our fireplace rebuilt. I still love the neighborhood, and now I also love my house. In fact, I love it so much that I rarely want to leave it, so I’m seriously considering taking a shot at a freelance career. Well, “seriously considering” may not be the right description. I’m daydreaming about it. Really, I just want to be a stay-at-home wife. I want to take my dogs for a long walk every morning and in the afternoon bake pies and cookies to give to my neighbors.
So that’s where I’ve been.
